National Recovery Coordination Group

The National Recovery Coordination Group (NRCG) is a permanent standing group chaired by the National Recovery Manager. It is comprised of key central government agencies that coordinate and oversee central government recovery activities.

Key NRCG responsibilities include:

  • Enabling effective collaboration and a streamlined approach to cross-agency recovery planning;
  • Acting as a critical navigator between local and central government;
  • Coordinating recovery resources and activities, including sharing information, reviewing tools and identifying lessons; 
  • Monitoring progress and addressing issues; and
  • Providing advice on government assistance (including funding and policy settings and identifying gaps and opportunities for further government intervention).

The NRCG is not a requirement under the National Civil Defence Emergency Management Plan Order 2015.
