Emergency Management Orientation

Have you recently started a role in Emergency Management? Do you have a curiosity to understand how you fit into emergency management in New Zealand?

NEMA runs an Emergency Management Orientation course aimed at new Civil Defence Emergency Management Officers.

Workshops and speakers combine during the Emergency Management Orientation Course to provide context around your role in the emergency management sector. Experienced emergency management staff will share their experiences and pass on a few tips, while you network with your new colleagues and share your insights. 

Some of the key learnings of this session are:

• where your role fits into the sector
• principles of emergency management
• how agencies interact to support the sector

Registration is via takatū. To book, you must have your CDEM manager’s approval. Spaces are limited and there is an equal allocation of spaces per CDEM Group. The courses are held in Wellington.
