Appropriate signage will be a significant contribution to the management of the risk posed by tsunamis by assisting the execution of evacuation plans. As a consequence, tsunami risk
management is strengthened by the alignment of signage, public education, and response planning.

The Impact Assessments Director’s Guideline [DGL22/20] and the National Impact Assessment Data Set and Dictionary Technical Standard [TS05/20] work together. They support a consistent and coordinated multi-agency approach in emergencies to:
- reconnaissance,
- damage assessments, and
- information sharing.
